Ministry Philosophy
The Bible says that parents have been given the primary responsibility to teach their children the Word of God. IBC Children’s Ministry is in partnership with parents, reinforcing what is already being taught in the home. Because we believe in the parent/teacher team approach, we will actively pursue involvement in the classroom. We believe parents should be the first ones to step forward to fill a need. We will do our best to communicate with parents about curriculum and classroom activities to help with reinforcement at home.
We as a Children's Ministry Staff will strive to minister to the children of Immanuel using Christ as our model. We will do our best to meet each child's needs, and to love them unconditionally. We believe that we are answering a direct call from God, as in Psalm 78:5-7:
"He commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands."

Nursery Ministry
Caring for Children
Our IBC Nursery is available for children from birth to 2 years of age. Children turning 2 years old in the nursery will remain there until the next Promotion Sunday in September - or on an as needed basis. We have a Nursing Mother’s Room directly adjacent to the Infant Nursery Rooms, which is equipped with a monitor so you can continue to watch the service.
Parents are certainly welcome to stay with their child at first to help get them adjusted to our nursery. Please leave specific instructions for the nursery workers regarding your child when you sign them into the Nursery.
Safety and Security
Our central check-in system makes check-in easy and increases classroom security. You and your child will each receive wristbands with matching numbers on them. Parents must wear their wristband until their last child is picked up from their class – or the nursery. If we need to reach you for any reason, we will post your child’s wristband number on our LED boards in our Worship Center, Atrium or Gym. If you are in an ABF the Nursery coordinator will come to find you.
Our Nursery is staffed by background-checked and trained Nursery supervisors and our nursery volunteers are comprised of church members and parents.
